Hi, I'm Julie Chen. I am an eLearning developer from Los Angeles, California. My journey in the world of learning design began over two decades ago, and it has been an exciting adventure ever since.
My Journey
For the past 20 years, I've had the privilege of working in higher education across various disciplines, including dentistry, medicine, and continuing education. My initial foray into this field was driven by a passion for creativity and a desire to make learning more accessible and engaging. My roles have varied, but my commitment to excellence and innovation in learning design has remained constant.
My Skills
I bring a wealth of experience in marketing and program administration. As a Marketing Administrator, I developed and executed comprehensive marketing campaigns and established branding standards across all promotional channels and materials. In my role as a Continuing Education Program Administrator, I spearheaded the launch of asynchronous programs by establishing an accredited learning environment in LMS, working closely with instructors and learners to deliver a professional and engaging user experience.

Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Science in Learning Design and Technology from the University of San Diego, with an expected graduation date of August 2024. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Southern California. My academic background, combined with my practical experience, equips me with a robust set of skills in e-learning design, graphic design, and program promotion and management.

Collaboration and communication are at the heart of my work. I believe in creating learner-centered environments that foster inclusivity and engagement. My approach is strategic and holistic, integrating new technologies and best practices to meet the unique needs of each client. Whether working with instructors, learners, or industry professionals, I strive to build strong, positive relationships and ensure that everyone is aligned and empowered to achieve their goals.
My Indulgence
When I'm not designing learning experiences, I'm likely in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes. Cooking is a creative outlet for me and a way to bring joy to my family. I'm also a passionate animal lover and cherish the time I spend with my fur babies.
